To me, fashion expresses a point of view where formality and informality, construction and comfort co-exist. My ethos is about the luxury of infusing clothes with your own personality, not being worn by them. In each of these portraits, a strong character wears a look that reflects who they are: they’re the ones who bring the clothes to life. – Matthew M. Williams

Comfort isn’t just about fit and feel. It’s in the mind, of course. Designer Yoon Ahn presented AMBUSH Fall Winter 2021 collection, a fusion of comfort and escapism. Working with unexpected fabrics, using the interplay of shine and texture, bright tones amid the workaday, the collection raises the spirit and allow the wearer room to be themselves.

Designer YOON, like many of us, is at home. She feels this need for comfort, but also sees fashion as a way to hold on to one’s identity. AMBUSH’s latest collection began to take shape, informed by the designer’s belief that clothes shouldn’t overwhelm the wearer, but instead empower and give a natural sex appeal. Where comfort meets escapism. – from AMBUSH.

BEAUTY & GROOMING: Skin Care for Men?

BEAUTY & GROOMING Skin Care for Men

Sun damage, wrinkles, the gradual effects of age, as well as other factors all seem to conspire to give men’s skin some serious challenges. Although there seem to be many products on the market to deal with these skin issues, many men can find the sheer enormity of these products to be daunting at best and overwhelming or just flat-out impossible to sort through, at worst.

But it doesn’t have to be an exercise in futility or an odyssey of herculean proportions to find the skin care products and routine that work best for your masculine skin.

Take care of your skin

Good healthy skin is a powerful way to combat the ravages of time and age. A healthy skin glow is also a sign that you are healthy and that you look and feel your absolute best. But taking good care of your skin is about more than just getting a good beauty rest or washing it with some special soap.

Don’t worry. You won’t have to enroll in a skin care course for men or break the bank to purchase expensive oils and body perfumes either. In fact, taking good care of your skin can be accomplished in a few practiced but simple steps. Read on to start a skincare routine for men.

BEAUTY & GROOMING Skin Care for Men

The choice of soap is essential

First, is basic cleansing. Contrary to how many men approach their skin cleaning, you don’t just buy some random soap off the shelf in the supermarket or borrow someone’s soap. You need to be selective about what you put on your skin. It may feel good to wash your face thoroughly and towel it vigorously, but you may be stripping it of essential oils.

If you have a soap or cleanser you are partial to, that’s fine. Just make sure you add moisturizer to your face. If your face retains oil, however, you may not have to use any, or use a mild moisturizer. If your face is like most men, you need to apply a moisturizing lotion at least once a day.

Next are the eyes, which, as the saying goes, are the window of the soul. The health of your eyes tell a great deal about you – your health, whether you are stressed, or whether you are getting enough rest. A man’s eye area can make him look much older than he really is.

Make sure you get the proverbial eight hours of sleep. Go to bed every night at the same time and have a routine by which you get to bed. This is the fastest way to make certain that you fall asleep instead of tossing and turning. Turn off technology after a certain hour. Eye strain wears poorly on a man’s face.

BEAUTY & GROOMING Skin Care for Men

Opt for creams designed for the eyes

Eye cream is a strongly recommended investment. Because the skin around the eye is not as dense as skin on other areas of the body, it needs more protection. A good eye cream can erase dark circles, eliminate bags, diminish puffiness, and minimize wrinkles in one fell swoop. Use a quality eye cream each night before bed. Then you can graduate to a good morning cream as well to complement it. The long-term benefits may end up reversing your eye age by years.

Sunscreen is one of your skin’s best friends. The sun does a number on us over the years, especially as we mature and adds to the sagging and wrinkling that is already occurring naturally. A sunscreen lotion with moisturizers is best. Also use an SPF of at least 15. This allows you to stay out longer without suffering sunburn and also allows you to get your Vitamin D, which is also actually good for the skin.

Your diet is as important as anything you do to protect and nourish your skin. Eating the right foods in the right amounts is one of the most powerful things you can do to ensure that you have healthy looking skin for years to come.

Veggies, like carrots, cucumbers, spinach, beans, and peas, as well as fruit like apricots, tomatoes, and melons have been eaten for many years because of their rejuvenating effect on the skin. Also eat meat like salmon and mackerel, as well as nuts and seeds to give your skin the best chance to shine.

These simple steps, if practiced regularly and made a habit, will yield a noticeable result on your skin. Those who know you will want to know if you have found the Fountain of Youth because your skin will look and feel its optimal best.

7 Tips and Tricks to Making a Successful Handmade Valentine’s Day Card

The day that celebrates love is coming soon. Not that love shouldn’t be recognized on a daily basis, just February the 14th adds up special magic that permeates the air and lets everybody feel it. Romantic dinners, surprising trips, proposals following  tears of happiness, and, of course, gifts exchange. Some people prefer getting unexpected presents, others preorder and get exactly what they wanted. However, there is one common thing that will definitely be appreciated by most people, if not all – a handmade sentimental gift. Gift with the soul! Why not a handmade Valentine’s Day card? Let’s see how to make it successfully and with love.

Focus on preferences

Looking for the valentine’s card ideas you can use such an easy in use tool as Crello. I believe no problem will occur here since you are certainly well-aware of the color preferences, elements, pictures, texture. Having organized that information in order, you know what direction to move.

Personalized design

Handmade does not mean you are totally forbidden to turn for help of various graphic design apps. They are rich in craft supplies. Your soul will be guiding you through choosing templates and graphical elements. Your hands will be pressing the keys and picking the color palette to adorn the card that will be appreciated since made with the exact preferences in mind. The whole process of work with an app is triggered by love. Therefore, it is handmade with love and your soul in it.

Photo © Benjo Arwas

Pop-up elements

Who says that the romantic card should be all pinkey-lovey-dovey thingy…Some humor is always valued. Romance should not be boring. Spice your craft up with some interactive elements. If the card has a big heart( containing capitalized “LOVE” in the middle) on the cover, it doesn’t mean there can’t be a popping-up chubby angel-baby, that appears, when your masterpiece is opened. Funny and still loving.

Real photo in use

Imagine the card, covered in hearts. That every heart has a tiny picture of you two in certain milestones of the period of your couple’s life. It is OK if some of them contain her photo with mascara goops, that she got when laughing hard at something you’ve done. Too touchy, too personal, shares intimacy. Choose the best photo for the spread of the card. Of course, there is no such purpose as to make your loved one cry, but believe me, those photos will entitle some crying thing to happen.

Music is a killer

Keep on impressing! One episode from sitcom Friends should be an inspiration – Janice’s love-tape for Chandler. She may not fight for Emmy, but for the best romantic reward, she definitely does. Go even further, let your card sound with your taped either sound ( created by you) or several words sung by you. Besides craft supplies, you will need a  sound module and probably some tutorial on how to personalize the sound. Opt in for a digital card. Still impressive.

Multifunctional purpose

Who says that the card can’t transform into an invitation to a candle-light dinner or romantic weekend. Place the decorative elements as if it is just a card, add text frosted with your dearest feelings. Afterwards, place a tiny text with a piece of invitation information and see how carefully the significant other will read the content of the card.

Borrowed ideas are worthy ideas

Some ideas might not easily flow and transform themselves into tangible creative projects. For example, some Valentines and Valentines just adore minimalism. Bear it in mind, when cutting the one hundred eleventh golden heart…and it is just for the cover of the card. Be considerate, search for the inspiration boards if you have no idea how may minimalism embody in the Valentine’s card. Do not feel ashamed that the ideas are borrowed. You still make an effort researching and doing your best at creating the algorithm generating the one that suits you best.

Photo © Benjo Arwas

Conclusion

Handmade stuff always contains personal touch and tells others that the creator cares. Sometimes it is hard to find a gift that will really show how much somebody means to you. Therefore there is only one way to fix the problem – to do it on your own. Yes, it might be totally odd, or weird, or say that art might not be a priority on your hobby list. It is totally fine. Present-day reality from a technological perspective lets pretty much everyone walk a mile in artistic shoes. With all the offline supplies and apps developed anything you have in mind may get transformed into a pretty little thing, that will say more than something pricey and soulless. Handmade Valentine’s Day cards generated for your loved ones are an epitome of a pure feeling and always a win. Just do one this year and you will never regret it.

FALL WINTER 2021 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS

I have always been romanced by the unexpected beauty and joy of New York city. Each day is its own exhilarating courtship, where even the simplest pleasures feel decadent: flowers from the bodega, morning coffee consumed while battling rush hour, or the symphony of a taxi ride. After twenty years, I still find myself enamored with the skyline. – Prabal Gurung

Like most love stories, it started with a rose: a pure symbol of love and beauty, handpicked with care from the local corner store. Too often overlooked or deemed unimpressive compared to its elaborately named kin, these bodega beauties took on a special meaning this summer. During a heartbreaking and tumultuous period, they filled us with hope and joy in the moments we needed them most. I saw flowers everywhere as they petaled the seminal events of the summer; inviting themselves into intimate moments of respite at home, or acting as a beacon of reverence and respect at vigils, black lives matter protests, the Brooklyn liberation march for black trans lives, and peaceful demonstrations by the stonewall inn. From the gatherings of voguers that streamed down Chelsea piers, to the cool kids draped in thrifted wears hanging at Washington square park, and the drag performers in Sheridan square in their full regalia, roses blossomed in celebration of life and the promise of what lay ahead. A sentimental motif, the blooms served as a reminder that amidst uncertainty and darkness, we find light in the true expression of our most real and authentic selves.” – from – Prabal Gurung

American Designer Teddy Vonranson presented his Fall Winter 2021 collection today as part of the American Collections schedule replacing the former New York Fashion Week. The collection was inspired by New York itself, and the working inspiration for the designers was the famed lined from The Colossus of New York by Colson Whitehead – “The city knows you better than any living person because it has seen you when you are alone”.

FALL WINTER 2021 COLLECTIONS

Teddy Vonranson Fall Winter 2021 collection comprised out of thirty-three looks explores the sartorial shaping an elegant wardrobe for a young man on the run. “It was important to me that this collection be about New York City. Spending time apart was grounding and reflective but I was eager to be reunited. And though it may feel as if we lost the vibrant energy that is the signature of NYC, the colors are still there for those who have the eyes to see and make the effort to use their imagination,” shared Designer Teddy Vonranson with the press.

The elegantly shaped collection while expired by the resilience of New York city also for Teddy merges his love for both East Coast and West Coast. Vonranson has created his own Manhattan Island take for the Fall Winter 2021 season. “I, for one, chose warmth over coldness for my Fall/Winter collection, a warm celebratory feeling usually reserved for a vacation wardrobe. I embraced playful juxtapositions like mixing traditional English tweeds and checks back to rayon Hawaiian prints; an emerald green suede jacket over a bright yellow wool sweater and a palm leaf shirt; a pink wool suit over a mauve sweater and a tweed hat; a red wool suit over a tan nubuck shirt paired with ivory sunglasses; a jade wool jacket combined with a black Hawaiian print that reminds me of the city lights at night; a valiant attempt to repay NYC for all the prior love she bestowed on me,” adds the designer in his collection notes.

FALL WINTER 2021 MENSWEAR COLLECTIONS

No longer silenced, people are speaking up about the past and ongoing racism, violence, and prejudice against Asian communities. PRIVATE POLICY chose the transcontinental railroad Chinese’s epic story because it declares existence and pride for the previous Asian generations’ phenomenal attributions. We look to them for inspiration to stand tall for who we are and welcome others to learn about Asian culture.” – from Private Policy

Things You Should Consider When Buying an Engagement Ring

Things You Should Consider When Buying an Engagement Ring

You have been contemplating this for a long time and have finally come to one of the most important decisions in your life – getting engaged to the woman of your dreams. You are planning the proposal but even before that, your thoughts are all about the perfect engagement ring for the woman you love.

An engagement ring is a promise that you will be faithful to your partner and be her lifetime companion. It symbolizes complete commitment, something that will always remind her that you are there for her. Thus, you want to find the very best that you can to make her happy. You also want to ensure that you purchase the engagement ring from reputable jewelers like willyou.net because nothing but the best will do.

Before buying an engagement ring, here are some things you need to consider.

Determine your budget

Understandably, you will want to spend as much as you can to present your partner with the perfect engagement ring. Still, you cannot spend money you don’t have or go beyond what you have put aside. There are other expenses you need to handle as the wedding day draws near, so you want to ensure that you have enough for that too. The value of the engagement ring does not rest on the price alone. What matters is what it symbolizes. Determine your budget and research engagement rings that fit in perfectly with what you can shell out. You can still have it custom-made to make it unique and suitable for your bride to be.

Things You Should Consider When Buying an Engagement Ring

Your partner’s way of life

When picking out an engagement ring, keep in mind that it will always be worn by your partner, whatever she is doing, or wherever she goes. This means that you will have to choose an engagement ring that she is comfortable wearing in whatever activity she is involved in. If her work involves taking care of people, such as a nurse or a therapist, rings with prong settings may not be ideal as they can either hurt the people she works with or injure herself. If she is physically active, you should go for a ring that she will not necessarily have to remove during her activities. Your partner’s lifestyle can help you determine a suitable ring for her.

Things You Should Consider When Buying an Engagement Ring

Her personal preferences

Before reaching this stage, you have a pretty clear picture of the personality of your partner. You are aware of what she loves to wear, her choices for jewelry, and every other aspect of her persona. She may be free-spirited and love wearing no-fuss clothes, pairing them with vintage jewelry. She may be the type of person who is more refined with her taste and conservative with her accessories. From there, you can pick up on what style the engagement ring can be, based on what you know about her.

Buying an engagement ring is not an easy process with everything you need to consider. However, it is undoubtedly worth the effort, especially when you hear her say yes.
